What Is Biodynamic Osteopathy?
Biodynamic Osteopathy is a specific branch of cranial-sacral osteopathy that was developed by James Jealous through the study of Dr. Sutherland's work on cranial-sacral therapy. It is a very gentle form of hands-on therapy that works to connect with deeper rhythms happening within the fluids of the body. These subtle rhythms can be felt after years of practice and they are thought to represent the same movements that happen during embryogenesis (development of the embryo) and elicit the body's self healing mechanism. This type of treatment can be very powerful and a helpful form of body work for many people. I utilize many different osteopathic techniques, but biodynamic osteopathy is a large part of my practice.
How Long Does Osteopathy Take to Help?
The initial treatment plan is 4-6 appointments 1-3 weeks apart. This varies for everyone, but it is a solid place to begin and see how the body responds to treatment. There are no guarantees for results, but if your discomfort or treatment goals are stemming from the dysfunction I assess in your body then you should notice improvement.
How Many Appointments Should I Book To Begin?
Book up to 6 appointments to start as close as one week apart or 3 weeks apart. It is always best to book in advance- if you decide you don't want to continue with the treatment plan you can always cancel with good notice.
What Ages Do You Treat?
Currently I treat anyone above the age of 6 years old.
Do You Treat Pregnant People?
Yes, Osteopathy can be very helpful in preparing for birth or managing pregnancy related pain or discomfort. As well as recovering after the birth.
What Should I Wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing that you can move in with ease.
How Do You Deal With Cancellations?
If you give less than 24hours notice and I can not fill the appointment spot I charge the full rate as a cancellation fee.
What Type Of Payment Do You Accept?
Cash, Credit, Debit or E-transfer.
